German E. Gonzalez: Web of Promises
Estelita Gonzalez
This is Estela Gonzales (named after my grandmother), we call her Estelita and she is my older sister. The promise she made to me was to help me through high school because she is already in college. She tells me about all her experiences and tells me what to do and not to do. An example of this promise would be when I first started high school and I would procrastinate and not do my homework, but she helped me get on task and start all of my homework on time. This year I am starting on a better foot and doing all my homework on time.
German Gonzalez
This is German Gonzalez (I was named after him) and he is my father. His promise to me is to be a good figure for me and to be someone to look up to, but at the same time, wants me to strive to be better than him. He tells me constantly that it's good to look up to him, but to try to be better than him. An example of this promise being put into action would be when he told me that he was not always cool with people in his school and he told me to try and be cool with as many people that I can so that I could be better than him. Last year during my 9th grade year I made many friends and was cool with as many people that I could which is what my father wanted.
Salma Gonzalez
This is Salma Gonzalez and she is my twin sister. Her promise to me is nearly the same as the promise that my mother made to me. But the only difference is that her promise is to be there alongside me through any problems or hard times that I am going through. An example of this would be her being in the same friend group as me and us having the same experiences as a friend group. She is there for me and is willing to take on my stress and turn it into hers as well.
Berenice Gonzalez
This is Berenice Gonzalez and she is my mother. The promises she made to me are to be there for me when I am not in a good state of mind (overthinking or worrying about something) or when I am stressing out about anything. Something she has done where she put this promise into action is when we moved to California from Texas. I was going to a new school and was in a completely new environment and was constantly worrying about what people would think of me, but she helped me through that. She told me not to worry and told me how it would be easy for me to make friends because I did so easily when I lived in Texas. She told me there would be not difference and that I should stop overthinking and worrying about it. And I stopped.
Matthew Garcia
This is Matthew Garcia and he is in the same friend group as my sister and I. He is one of my closest friends and I met him back in 6th grade. His promise to me is to be there and lighten up the mood of things. He is somewhat the life of the group. he can completely flip the vibe or atmosphere of a room by making us laugh. An example of this was when we got in trouble with the principal back in 8th grade and after the whole situation he was able to make me laugh and smile and helped me just brush it off because it wasn't that big of a deal.
Nathan Song
This is Nathan Song and he is one of my best friends and we have been friends since we were five. His promise to me is to be life-long friends and to be there for when we graduate college (this is more of a promise that we made to each other). There is not really an example that I can show this with but I do still stay in contact with him even though we live in different states (he lives in Texas), but we do constantly play video games together and we visit eachother when we can during holidays.
Thomas Caballero
This is Thomas Caballero and he is one of my closest friends that I've made since I moved to California. I met him back in 6th grade and the promise that he made to me is to be friends all throughout highschool even though we go to different schools. An example of this would be over the summer because we would hang out with a couple of other friends and we would go biking and just hang out at my house. We keep in contact through an application called discord and so do all of our other friends.
Vanessa Gonzalez
This is Vanessa Gonzalez and she is my Aunt. She is only in her twenties and act like a child all the time. She is like my older sister and is always joyful and full of life trying to make us laugh. Her promise to me is that she will always bring my mood up in any way possible even if I feel as if I am at my happiest. An example of this would be when she stayed with my sister and I for a week while my parents were out of town and we would be going out every single day to random locations. She would randomly say "I'm bored, wanna go to San Fransisco." (this is an example of what she asked us) and we would go. She never liked being at home doing nothing and would go out with us.
Carina Gonzalez
This is Ana Carina Gonzalez and she is my Aunt. Her promise to me is to be like a second mother to me and to be there for whenever I feel like I'm under stress or need help with something. An example of this was when she was taking care of my sister and I when we were younger (maybe 10 or 11). I had to do homework and she gave my sister and I food and she helped me with all my homework.
Hemet Romo
This is Hemet Romo and he is my nephew. His promise to me is to always be a friend of mine and to look to me for help with anything he needed help with. If he had a question he would ask me. An example of this is when he needed help with his math homework or when he needed help building a Star Wars lego set.
Estela Gonzalez
This is Estela Gonzalez and she is my grandmother. Her promise to me is to make sure that no matter how down I feel or may get that there is always tomorrow and she constantly reminds me of that. An example of this would be when I first met my oldest sister. I wasn't happy because a lot of information that I did not know about just instantly hit me, but my grandmother helped me through it.
This is Merlot and he is my dog. His promise to me is to be the most loyal friend that I have. He is always there to lighten up my mood and to make me happy. An example of this promise is during quarantine because I would not hang out with many friends and I would be at home all day but Merlot would be there hanging out with me and making my day better.
