Faith Bruschini's of Promises []
Mechelle, a friend, whom I only became close with recently, makes my life so much brighter. Mechelle makes promises such as helping me and being there with me when I don't understand any assignment and she gives me so much moral support when i'm stressed. Mechelle promises to make me laugh and smile all the time, hang out with me whenever i'm lonely, and encourages me to keep doing when I'm doubting myself. Mechelle and I had a French project together recently, we hadn't really known each other that well before then and neither of us are that great at French. When we did this project together we connected, helped each other out on pronunciation of French words, and working together with her encouraging me to do better, we did pretty well on that project. When I am unsure of any assignments she is always there to double check with and is alway there.

Yeliel, a really good friend, promises to always make light of serious situations and make me laugh, she supports me in anything I do and boosts my confidence by cheering me on. Pre-covid, Yeliel would sit with me at lunch and even if we were having a bad day we would make bad jokes and laugh at everything, making the day better. Another example is when I was unsure of dying my hair for the first time, she had just dyed her hair and really wanted me to do it, having her support really pushed me to do it and made me confident. Ive only known her for a bit under a year but we really connected and laugh so much together.
French club promises me a community to interact. It promises me experience and leadership roles to hang out with my friends while learning about French culture. We get to watch films and make recipes and then analyze the films together. An example of this is when we are organizing for an event and I have to make decisions or talk about what we want to do for each club meeting, I get to make decisions and have the responsibly to make the club do its best.

Kirsten has been my very best friend since I was six years old. She is always there when no one else is. She promises to always tell me the truth, to be there and help me in anyway she can, and she never judges me for any reason. When I'm in a rut and am breaking down about a homework assignment or sad, though she doesn't share many emotions, she's there to do the best she can. I appreciate her so much. Kirsten was my only friend for a long time, when I came to Moreau and made met some amazing people, none of the new friends became as tight as the one I have with Kirsten. With other people, I want to be my very best for, I want them to be proud to be my friend. With Kirsten, I don't have to be any way to be with her, I can truly be in any state and she will accept it as normal.
Vic, is one of my best friends who was the first true friend I made as a freshman at Moreau. Even though we didn't have any classes together, we had both lunches together and just the two of us sat together for about half the year before finding an established table group. Vic promises to always be there when I need to ramble or rant and is always there to help me with anything. Vic inspires me so much and constantly pushes me to try new things. Vic made me audition for the school muscial and though I didn't get in, vic prepared me and gave me music options that I could sing for auditions and even when I wanted to give up, she pushed me and practiced with me. Vic reassures me in anything I do, pushing me and helping me to be the best I can be. []

phoung thy is a good friend who promises to be give me advice when i'm sad and be on my side. I can always go to her when theres no one else and I need a support system. I can always depend on her to help me and sit next to me. I met her through other friends mid-freshman year and we had a class together. We aren't super close but at the start of quarantine I was extremely upset and having a hard time adjusting to this new life she told me that she will always be around if I need to talk to her. We were always there for eachother, and though we arnt super close, im grateful to have her in my life as a support system.

Moreau Catholic, my high school, promises to be a family to me, to be kind and loving, and to teach to no matter the circumstances. Moreau only missed a single day to get onto of online school and keep education going. Even through quarantine, they help students build relationships in the new year with there new teachers and classmates, even though we cannot see them in person. It amazes me the dedication Moreau teachers have to adapting to this crazy time. Teachers are really building a community and making their students smile even in this hard, depressing time.
Chris, a best friend, promises to always make me feel confident and help me and explain to me anything I dont understand. He will do anything to help me and make sure I am doing well in school and understand any material. Anytime we have a test he studies with me and explains every thing to me. Chris is a genuine person who helps anything. He makes me laugh and opens up to me, he trusts me and we check on eachother constantly.
Antonio has been a really good friend of mine since I was in first grade. He promises to be respectful, cheer me on, and make me laugh. He always responds on any group chat right away even if its not helpful. Me and him aren't the closest but he brings joy to my life by making me laugh. He recently got color-changing lights in his room. He lets me choose the colors I want his room to be each time we have a class together, its small but it makes me happy and brightens my day. I can always count on Antonio to make me smile.

Mr. Tobler, my freshman conceptual physics teacher, made a large impact on me. He promised to teach us but make it simple, easy, and fun. Tobler is very smart, he shared so much with us, not only about physics but about himself. He shared his dry humor with us, his sarcasm, and his dad jokes. I was never one for science but he made the class so fun that I learned to really enjoy it. An example of this would be when we went to the exploratoriam. He made it so that as long as we got our worksheet done, that we could do whatever we want and have a lot of freedom. We still got learning and work in but as long as that was done we could walk around or go to Starbucks with our chaperones. He made learning cool and fun and I respect him for that.
My French 2 class at Moreau has really built a family. We have been learning French for two years now and they promise to never judge each other, to cheer each other on when doing scary things like having to speak fully in French or taking tests. We have made a fun learning environment where we still smile and talk yet learn and understand. Learning a language is hard but working hard while still having fun makes the work seem doable. An example is when I think im going to fail a test or am about to do really bad, my French teacher and my friends smile and reassure me that I know what I'm doing. I'm not the greatest at French but even if I mess up my classmates are excited for me as we are all learning making mistakes is normal.

Mr. Landeza, my frosh theology teacher. He truly cared about us and really built relationships with his students. He told us all about him and he promised to teach us about the Bible but help us to connect it to our life today and make learning interactive. He laid eveything out for us. He never tried to trick us on test or exams and always reassured us of any instructions. Landeza promised to always have our backs and make sure we knew what we where doing. An example of this is that anytime we would have an assigment he would lay everything out and made sure all of his lessons where clear. He made sure we where going to do well as long as we did the work.
