Pedagogical Approaches
1. Behaviourism
Learning is teacher centred; it advocates the use of direct instruction and lecture based lessons. Is the theory in which teahers should be the only authority who leads the lesson.
4. Liberationism
Developed by the Brazilian educator Paulo Freire; in this approach of teaching he was able to teach illiterate adults to read in 45 days. The student voice is placed at the centre and democracy is put into the classroom.
2. Constructivism
People learn through experiences and reflection. It is based on the Piaget's pedagogical research, whose idea was that learners come ready to learn. Teachers are responsible to build activities that facilitate their students' learning.
3. Social Constructivism
Developed by Lev Vigotsky is a mixture of two priorities: teacher guided and student centred. He made it on the work of Piaget but with the idea that learning was a collaborative process between student and teacher.
Personal Concept
Social science focused on the study of teaching theories. A tool which teachers use to learn techniques that are useful to them in the classroom.
