Definition

The sequence of physical, language, thought and emotional changes that occur in a child from birth to the beginning of adulthood

Measured qualitatively

The progress cannot be measured using a ruler or weighing machine

Example:
A child development can be seen as he starts off by crawling into more advance skill such as walking etc

A lifelong process

A continuous process which begins at conception and ends with life

Follows an orderly sequence

It starts with infancy, middle and late childhood, adolescence, adulthood
and finally to the old age

The experiences gained earlier in childhood will leave an impression for life and it will determine the kind of adult one would grw up to be
