        At this point students should be assessed and referred to a specialist depending on the results of the assessment. Assessments vary by school or institution
        
        For example, a school may have a MTSS team (Multi-tiered Support System) which involves the collaborative team of teachers, parents, and special education specialist.

        Inform (recruit) parents using the following strategies:
        
        Give clear and descriptive Examples of the Student's behaviors
        
        Remember that this is not 'good news' for the parents.
        
        use empathy and compassion
        
        consistently update parents on changes in performance or behavior
