Unhealthy Habits that Teens often do.
Skipping Meals
What some young people think is that skipping meals is going to help them lose weight, but as we said, it only slows down your metabolism and makes you gain weight.
Skipping meals can also cause your metabolism to slow down. This can make you gain weight or make it harder to lose weight.
Lack of Sleep
Sleep deprivation can cause depression, obesity, and moody with others. It could cause conflict.
Many teens nowadays never go to sleep at a reasonable hour because they stay up watching Netflix or texting their friends. This can cause sleep deprivation
Some teens continue with this frequently and they begin to see more long-term and serious health problems. A few causes there are in adult-hood that is caused by sleep deprivation are diabetes, high blood pressure etc.
Drinking Caffeine
Caffeine causes anxiety and dehydrates the body. For teens this can really harm them.
Lot of people even substitute caffeine with decaf thinking its better but its just as bad.
That little energy you get from drinking caffeine is the worst that could possibly happen. Some drastic changes in the brain if you are drinking one or two cups a day, especially if they are struggling from anxiety or depressive symptoms.
Other Bad Habits
Biting Nails
: A human hand is one of the dirtiest parts of a body and your nails having even more bacteria. Although, that doesn't stop many adults/teens from continuing to bite their nails. Even in the internet shows that almost 30 percent of the population engages in this gross behavior.
Not Flossing
: Many teens do not floss. About 20 percent of the population do not floss. This can cause pain in gums and when you are older your teeth begin to fall out
Early Drinking and Smoking
: Smoking causes lung disease, cancers, etc. A growing teenage body of evidence suggests that these substances could be really dangerous when they are used together. As most teens and adults combine alcohol and tobacco dramatically increase the risk of certain cancers.
