Page 4 - "I make good grades and have a high IQ and everything, but I don't use my head."
Page 63 - This is the country, I thought, half asleep.
Page 42 - "...he thinks I'm a pain in the neck...I bet he wishes he could stick me in a home somewhere, and he'd do it, too, if Soda'd let him."
Page 45 - "I couldn't use this," I said, dropping the pop bottle. "I couldn't ever cut anyone..."
Page 105 - All three of us like chocolate cake for breakfast. Mom had never aloud it with ham and eggs, but Darry let Soda and me talk him into it.
Page 115 - "Greaser' didn't have anything to do with it. My buddy over there wouldn't have done it. Maybe you would have done the same thing, maybe a friend of yours wouldn't have. It's the individual."
Page 55 - I ducked and tried to run for it, but the Soc caught my are and twisted it behind my back, and shoved my face into the fountain.
Page 161 - I read most of the time, and drew pictures.

He finds out that is girlfriend and him cant be together anymore and starts getting along better with his brothers.
Page 16 - I knew Soda would put him to sleep, because Soda can put about anyone out when he sets his head to it.
-
Page 33 - "It's okay, Johnnycake, they're gone now. It's okay."
Page 39 - "I've got me a ornery pony," Soda'd tell him, rubbing his neck. "How come you're so mean, Mickey Mouse?"
Page 11 - "When we stomp the Socies good, me and Stevie here are gonna throw a big party and everybody can get stoned. Then we'll go chase the Socs clear to Mexico."
-
-
Page 8 - "Easy, Ponyboy. They ain't gonna hurt you no more."
Darry Curtis

-
Page 16 - Darry is always pulling muscles; he roofs houses and he's always trying to carry two bundles of roofing up the ladder.
-
Page 109 - "No, they ain't goin' to put us in a boys' home."
Page 109 - ...Darry, shaved and dressed, came in behind Steve and lifted him up off the floor, then dropped him.
Page 97 - He was leaning in the doorway, wearing his olive green jeans ans black T-shirt.
Page 163 - "There's a guy here to see you. Says he knows you." Something in Darry's voice made me look up, and his eyes were hard. "His name's Randy.
Page 13 - "You don't ever think," Darry broke in, "not at home or anywhere when it counts..."
Page 13 - "When I want my kid brother to tell me what to do with my other kid brother, I'll ask you - kid brother."

Page 147 - "I was crazy, you know that, kid?"
Page 146 - "How would I know if he's bad or not? I ain't no doc. Yeah, we could use an escort." And the policeman got back into his car and I heard Dally hiss, "Sucker!"
Page 149 - "Never could keep that hair back...that's what you get for tryin' to help people, you little punk, that's what you get..."
Page 149 - ...slamming one fist against the wall, hammering it to make it obey his will.
Page 83 - Dally always liked to drive fast, as if he didn't care whether he got where he was going or not, and we came down the red dirt off Jay Mountain doing eighty-five.

Page 106 - He spun me into Steve, who gave me a playful slap on my bruised back and shoved me across the room."

Page 109 - "Hate to tell you, buddy," Steve said, still flat on the floor, "but you have to wear clothes to work. There's a law or something."

Stays his funny talkative self through the whole book. Before the rumble he spends the day watching Ponyboy and they go visit Johnny.
-
-
Page 42 - "No, Ponyboy, that ain't right...you got it all wrong..."
Page 43 - "Shut up talkin' like that," Two-Bit said fiercely, messing up Johnny's hair. "We couldn't get along without you, so you just shut up!"
Page 106 - They slammed the door, of course, and Two-Bit came running into the kitchen. He caught me by the upper arms and swung me around, ignoring the fact that I had two uncooked eggs in my hands
Page 112 - "I'll baby-sit him," Two-Bit said, ducking as I took a swing at him. "I haven't got anything better to do."
Page 112 - I pulled his chair over backward and jumped on him, but he had me down in seconds.
Page 115 - Two-Bit put an elbow on my shoulder and leaned against me, dragging on his cigarette.

Is the spy for the Greasers before the rumble so that they know what the Socs are going to do. Also explains to Ponyboy that things are rough allover.
Page 21 - The redhead was getting mad, or scared.
-
-
Page 34 - "All Socs aren't like that," she said. "You have to believe me, Ponyboy. Not all of us are like that."
-
Page 46 - She looked at me quickly. "I could fall in love with Dallas Winston," she said. "I hope I never see him again, or I will."
-
Page 129 - She wasn't crying, but she was close to it.
Marcia
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Has a crush on Two-Bit after they meet at the movies and then we don't really hear from her after that.
-
Page 23 - "How come we don't see your brother at school? He's not any older than sixteen or seventeen, is he?"
-
Page 28 - "We're really Arabian slave traders and we're thinking about shanghaiing them. They're worth ten camels apiece at least."
-
Page 34 - Marcia and Two-Bit were hitting it off fine. Both had the same scatterbrain sense of humor.
Page 40 - Marcia suddenly gasped. "Cherry, look what's coming."
Randy Aderson
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Participates in the rumble and explains to Ponyboy that things aren't perfect for the Socs like all the Greasers think.
Page 44 - "Baby, you know we don't get drunk very often..."
Page 45 - "And even if you are mad at us, that's no reason to go walking the streets with these bums."
-
-
Page 115 - "I'm not going to show at the rumble tonight," Randy said slowly.
Page 116 - Randy tried to grin, but I could tell her was close to tears.
-
-
Johnny Cade
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Page 33 - "There was a whole bunch of them," Johnny went on, swallowing, ignoring Soda's command. "A blue Mustang full...I got so scared..."
Page 34 - And Johnny, who was the most law-abiding of us, now carried in his back pocket a six-inch switchblade.
Page 42 - "Gee," Johnny said softly, "I thought you and Darry and Soda got along real well..."
Page 178 - A guy that'll really to you listen and care about what you're saying, is something rare.
Page 56 - "I killed him," he said slowly. "I killed that boy."
