      - Ponyboy told Cherry how Johnny got jumped in the lot.
      - Ponyboy and Johnny dosed off together in the lot.
      - Ponyboy saw the church they where staying in was on fire so he went into it to save little kids.
- - - - Darry was the first one to step up and fight in the rumble.
      - Darry cried when he saw that Ponyboy almost died in the burning church.
      - He yells at Ponyboy and slapped him when he fell asleep in a dangerous place.
      - Keeps Ponyboy safe and acts like he is Ponyboy's father.
    - - "Yeah the cops told me last night."
      - "Two-Bit, lay off. He ain't lookin' so good. Ponyboy, you can take a couple of aspirins and go easy. You smoke more than a pack today and I'll skin you. Understood?"
      - "Oh, Pony, I thought we'd lost you...like we did mom and dad..."
      - "You don't ever think."

      - "Nothing gold can stay."
      - "We'd have to anyway if we got caught. You know the first thing the judge does is make you get a haircut."
      - "It sure will be good to get into a car again."
    - - Johnny and Ponyboy ran away to and old abandon church because he killed someone.
      - Johnny decided to cut and bleach Ponyboy's hair so they would not fit the descriptions the cops put out.
      - When Johnny and Ponyboy where getting jumped Johnny stabbed Bob so he would not kill Ponyboy.
      - Johnny talked back to Dally at the movie theaters and told him to leave Cherry alone and this was a shock because he is usually very quiet.

      - "Oh, ponyboy, your hair...your tuff, tuff hair..."
      - "Where's that blue shirt I washed yesterday."
      - "Don't talk. You're going to be okay."
    - - Sodapop went to the hospital to see Johnny and Ponyboy after they saved the kids in the burning church.
      - Sodapop was in the rumble with the gang.
      - Sodapop wrote Ponyboy while he was in the old abandon church and gave it to dally to give to Ponyboy.
      - Sodapop sleeps with Ponyboy because Ponyboy has nightmares about his parents dying.
- - - - Steve and Sodapop had a pillow fight in Sodapop's bedroom.
      - Steve helped scare away the people who jumped Ponyboy in the very beginning.
      - Steve helped the greasers fight in the rumble.
      - Steve does not like having Ponyboy as a tag along so he is mean to him.
- - - - Dally helped Ponyboy and Johnny hide and escape the police when Johnny killed Bob.
      - Dally robbed a store after Johnny died because Johnny was the only person he loved.
      - He pointed a gun at the police man because he wanted to be shot and die because he had so much grief.
      - Dally saved Johnny from dying in the burning church by pulling him out.
    - - "I'll give you a ride for your money."
      - "Ya kill 'em with switch blades, too, don't ya, kid?"
      - "Gotta cancer stick, Johnnycake?"
      - "Pony, do Darry and Sodapop know about this?"
- - - - When Tow-Bit was babysitting Ponyboy he sat on the cabinet and was telling Ponyboy stories.
      - When they were at the movies Two-Bit offered to walk Cherry and Marcia to their house so they can get the car and drive them home.
      - When Two-bit walks into the hospital and says, hey Johnny kid and it was the first time Johnny talked sense he got their.
      - Two-Bit gave Dally his prized black handled switchblade.
    - - "You must make such interesting conversation."
      - "Hey Ponyboy," he cried gleefully, "long time no see."
      - "I was plannin' to get boozed up tomorrow night."
      - "Man, dig badly here!"
