Cardiac
What is it
Also called myocardium, the cardiac muscle tissue is a type of tissue that's only at the heart. It is responsible of keeping the blood pumped throughout the human body.
Functions
Controls the contractions of the heart (pacemaker cells)
Smooth
What is it
The smooth muscle tissue is found in walls of hollow organs, such as intestines and stomach.
Functions
In the bladder, the smooth muscle tissue helps get the urine out
Determines the flow of blood in the arteries
Moves food through the digestive track
Skeletal
What is it
Also called the voluntary muscle, the skeletal muscle tissue produces all the movements of the body parts relations to each other (to bones by tendons).
Functions
Maintain posture
Stabilise bones and joints
Control internal movement
Generate heat

What are they
Ligaments are bands of tough elastic tissue that wraps around the joints.
