Negative Habitual Present Tense
Indicates refusal of the
positive statement
Beginning with the prefix - ha
Drop -no
Example -
Ndinofamba
Handifambe/i
Replace the suffix and add -e or -i
The present progressive tense
This tense indicates something that
is currently happening and will continue for some time.
Tense indicator = -ri
Bsc1st, Tense indicator2nd, Verb3rd (starting with -ku)
Example = Ndiri kufamba (kumba)
Simple Present tense
The tense implies that the action
is a habit, done on a daily/weekly or monthly basis.
Tense indicator = -no( used between the
verb and he bsc)
Example = Ini ndi no famba
The future tense
Used to indicate something that will happen.
Tense indicator = -cha
(placed between verb and bsc)
Example = ndi cha famba
Negative future tense
Negative prefix -ha
Do not change the last vowel
Example = ha ndi cha famba
