Jesus
Suffering of Christ
In the book of Mark (Mark 15:21-47), we are told about the sufferings that Jesus had to go through for us

People were given a choice to either release Barabbas or Jesus and the people chose Barabbas. This shows that people are still evil and sinful which is why they chose one of their own
After Jesus was sentenced, He was stripped naked and tied to a pillar to be whipped.
He was lashed using a whip with multiple ends that had pieces of metal or bone attached to them so that pieced of flesh would get stuck and would get torn out.
-
The soldiers mocked Jesus by putting a purple cape on Him which symbolises royalty or to show 'king'
Further mockery and suffering includes the crown made of thorns put on Jesus' head. The thorns will puncture the skin which will hurt a lot since His head is covered by it
Jesus had to carry the cross and was crucified which was the worse form of suffering, torture and punishment given that time
Jesus took the pain of it all and did not drink the wine with mir as it is a form of pain killer. He rejected it and endured the pain for three hours (third hour to sixth hour).
Finally at noon, Jesus cried out “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”) and he died on that day. He then resurrected three days after he was buried.
Who is Jesus?
-
He is our saviour
He came down to earth and died on the cross so that we wouldn't have to die for our sins. He acted as the perfect sacrifice and redeemed our sins for us in the place of a sacrificial lamb.

Jesus is Divine yet Human, meaning He posses two natures
He is able to be omnipresent and all knowing. He is also able to do miracles such as healing terminal illnesses (e.g heal the blind and crippled) and raising people from the dead (e.g Jesus commanded Lazarus to come out; He raised a girl from the dead by commanding her to live)
He is still human as only a human can die for human sins. He has human emotions and attributes such as being able to feel thirst and hunger as well as experiencing pain and suffering (40 days in the desert; dying on the cross; angry after seeing the Temple of God is now a market place)
A perfect human
-
He still cries and feels sadness and anger. He can feel pain and sorrow as other humans do, as well as die, but He is perfect in the sense that He has no sin and is able to bare the pain, sin and suffering of others on the cross. He died but resurrected three days after His crucifixion.
He was even buried, mummified and put into a tomb but still rose from the dead and ascended into the Heavens.
He is able to face all temptations and not fall into sin (40 days and nights in the desert without food while the devil tempts Him). He is able to endure all pain, sadness, suffering and sorrow that other humans can't (getting beaten and crucified without pain killers and He endured everything without complaint).
All this shows that Jesus is both Human and Divine, thus we can always rely on Him to help as with humanly things that we are not able to do. He can give us what we need in order to fight sin.
