Patient complaining chest pain
Positioning
Figure out where is the pain
what provoked the pain
what makes the pain better
what makes the pain worse
when does the pain occur(during excretion/ repositioning)
when did the pain started
check the quality of pain
ask the patient to describe pain
is it dull, sharp, squeezing, pressure,burning, aching,or crushing
does the pain radiate to other ares like shoulder, arms, neck and jaw
ask the patient to point towards the painful area
duration of pain
how long have you had the pain
is the pain continuous or intermittent
have you had the pain previously
was the pain slow or sudden
Call 112 immediately or emergency medical assistance
Calm the patient to be helped and help the patient to rest, for example in a semi-sitting position
Offer a medicine containing acetylsalicylic acid 250mg (disperin, Aspirin) to chew if the person is not allergic to the medicine
Observe breathing and blood circulation
If the person becomes lifeless. start giving CPR with 30 beats and 2 breaths and report the changed situation to the emergency centre
If the person begin helped has their oown nitrate medication they will be assisted in taking them. If the medication doesnot help within a few minutes ,call 112.
