MODAL CONTINUOUS
Past Modal Continuous
Use past modal continuous when you are not sure if the subject is doing an action. However, this action is possible, necessary, or likely.

Present Modal Continuous
Use present modal continuous when you are not sure if the subject will be in the middle of doing an action or is planning to take an action in the future.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Is used when describing a particular point in time. In the Present Continuous Tense we are discussing something that is happening now.

Refers to longer situations that occurred up until the moment in the past we are discussing, and can describe the length of time they occurred for.
