The first theme in the Maze Runner is Bravery because to be in the Glade you have to be extremely brave and fearless. You have to face what is happening in the now and always be ready to face it right away strong and fierce. Alby says "If you ain't scared, then you ain't human." Fear is one of the things the Gladers face throughout the novel but every last one of them is brave and they are strong and most of them will fight until the end. Bravery's meaning is to have courage and conduct and to not be afraid. Courage is being able to do something and Thomas can do that, he's not afraid to try new things. Conduct is the way one acts and the Gladers always put fear behind them and bravery ahead.

The second theme in the Maze Runner is Persistence because to live in the Glade, you cannot give up you have to keep going. You have to put everything that your worried about behind yourself and focus and have persistence to know that you can get through the challenge. Everyone sometimes feel like they have to give up, like they have no hope in their life. But the Gladers always feel given up when they can't get out of the Glade and solve the maze . But not many gave up after 2 years trying to solve the challenges and the maze, they were persistent. They didn't stop they fought till the end because they were able to do it in there minds so they did it.

Over 2 years spent in the maze, the Gladers learn to bond and get to know one another. So they make friends and friendship is one of the things you notice throughout the novel. For a lot of the Gladers, they would risk their lives for another Glader, just like Alby. Alby sacrificed himself for everyone else. It showed that he was bonded with everyone and had great friends. Chuck and Thomas become great friends quickly, Alby and Newt seem to have quite a bit in common, Minho and Thomas fight till the end together and those are all tiny acts of friendship that happen often that becomes a theme in this novel, the maze runner.

The problem in this book is the Gladers (the inside the maze) are stuck inside the maze, and they haven't found a way for 2-3 years now
