Urbanisation is the process which an increasing number of people is living in urban areas like cities or towns.

As more people live in urban areas, large amounts of fossil fuels are needed to sustain activities such as heating, cooling, cooking, and lighting. High numbers of cars, buses, and other forms of transportations also contribute to the amount of greenhouse gases emitted in these areas. Constructing infrastructure and producing construction materials also release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

the emissions from machines used for certain processes, for example, the tractors used to plow the land. the rapid decomposition of crops in moist and arm environments, for example paddy fields.
these processes emit greenhouse gases, methane and nitrous oxide respectively. these greenhouse gases trap heat from longwave radiation that is emitted from the earth, causeing global warming, contributing to climate change.

Urbanisation occurs mainly because people move from rural areas to urban areas in hopes of a better life and it results in growth in the size of the urban population.

When a volcano erupts, large volumes of carbon dioxide, water vapor, sulfur dioxide and dust and ash is released. Sulfur dioxide mixed with dust and ash reflects the solar energy back into space thus giving a cooling influence on regional and global temperatures. However, once volcanic dust and ash settles, the global temperatures go back up.
