- Decide items to study and collect data
- Tabulate data based on the frequency of occurrences in each category and calculate totals. Arrange the data in descending order. Place ‘others’ item last (if applicable).
- Calculate the percentage of total and
cumulative percentage for each category.

How to construct
1.Collect at least 30 paired data(x,y) of the variables under study and enter data into check sheet
2.Find the max and min values for both x and y values. Calculate range = max - min for both x and y variables. This will help decide the scales of horizontal and vertical axes, both length must be equal

- If one is quality characteristic and the other is a factor, then use horizontal (x) axis for factor and vertical axis (y) for the quality characteristic.
- If one is a cause and the other is the effect then use x axis for cause and y axis for the effect
4.Plot data on the graph paper. Repeated data values - put on the same point, mark by concentric circle
