What

Sensation attributed to the sublime as a "negative pain" which Burke called "delight" and which is distinct from positive pleasure
Two notions of sublime
Mathematically sublime: We can prove the mathematically sublime when we are confronted with something that is so large that is overwhelms imagination's capacity to comprehend it
Dynamically sublime: We can prove the dynamically sublime when we experience nature as fearful while knowing ourselves to be in a position of safety and hence without in fact being in danger
