New conception of time
a subjective time, not chronological, it means that
our mind doesn’t follow a chronological order, we have a flash forward or a flashback in our mind
Sometimes Conrad writes very long periods and sometimes very short, because in your mind there's not an order.

PAG 92. Heart of darkness talks about Conrad’s journey in Congo, a Belgian colony. During his travels, he sees the consequences of colonisation and criticises it. He talks about how the colonisers are exploiting the local people. In the passage “Meeting the other”, Conrad tells the readers how he thinks that colonialism is nothing more than the exploitation of man after seeing 6 black men chained to each other.
