A={x: 2<x<20, x ∈ N}
Empty Set {} or ∅
Finite Sets
Universal Set (U)
The set that contains all the elements
being discussed is called universal set
A set which contains no
element is called empty set.
A= {x: 3x+1=9, x is an integer}
Infinite Sets
A finite set is a set that has
a finite number of elements
A= {1,2,3,4,5}
If the elements of a set are not countable
then, this set is called infinite set.
N= {0,1,2,3,4...}
Union of Sets
Complement of a Set
Intersection of Sets
The intersection of sets A and B is the
set of elements which are common for A and B
The union of sets A and B is the set of
all elements which belong to A or B or to both
A ∩ B
A U B
The set of all elements of the universal set that are not in A or the difference between universal set.
