Limestone, containing calcium carbonate, thermally decomposes, to from calcium oxide. Therefore the reaction would be as follows:
Ca3Co2 --> CaO + CO2. Therefore the calcium oxide, further reacts with silica to form calcium silicate, also known as slag. (Nuetralisation Reaction), as calcium oxide isa base, and silica is acidic. Formula of slag: CaSiO3.
