(2) Necrosis
5 Types of Necrosis
Liquefactive
- Dead tissue undergoes liquefactive
- Necrotive area semi-fluid
- No residual architecture
- eg. Stroke, Occlusion of arteries
Fat
- eg Pancreatitis (Damage parenchymal tissue releasing lipase) / Injury to breast fat tissue (trauma / fall) attract calcium / cacification
Caseous
- Cheese-like, curdle milk like appearance
- eg. Tuberculosis
Fibrionoid
- Leakage of fibrin from endothelial
- eg. Hypertension
Coagulative
- Maintain their architecture
- Cytoplasm eosinophilic, lost their nuclei
- Proteins coagulate
- Could be caused by anoxia
- Egg analogy (liquid but alive)
