My Worst Learning Experience
New teacher became new adviser instead of Mr,Ito
Her name is Ms, Kawamura
conducting was so peculiar/unique
hard to play the instrument to the rhythm of conducting
She didn't allow us to write notes in music score
her directions were vague
This meeting was my worst one I ever had
She didn't graduate college of music
I belonged to brass band club when I was junior high school student
My English conversation school's senior played the clarinet
I admire her and decided to play the clarinet
Mr.Ito, who was our brass band club's adviser when I was 1st grade, was very strict but gave us accurate advices
He always watched us, and concerned about us
He was great adviser
He transferred to another school when I became 2nd grade
She evaluated us by process and length of practice
time
This seems to be good at first glance
It had the exact opposite effect on ensemble
our generation had a small sect between the brass part and the woodwind part
the woodwind part spend time for not only practice, but also a lot of thing except playing instrument
sharing image of song
reading music score carefully and checking
the brass part just spent long time for practice, didn't any feedback, didn't set any goal
Ms. Kawamura favored the brass part
The wood wind part got many caution and was forced to play again in ensemble
But music instructor came a time every month is exactly opposite from Ms.Kawamura
She praised the wood wind part and gave much advice to the brass part
the brass part inferior to the woodwind part as to tecnique
She listened to our ensemble carefully, and gave us accurate direction
Of course, it is very important to evaluate effort or process, but estimating excessively and didn't seeing the real result is fool
