Interventions:
-
Widening the amount of foods available for the client will increase the motivation to being eating at a healthier rate
( Leyton, Batista, Labato, Aspano, & Jimenez 2017).
Life style modification and education to decrease the amount of smoking and unhealthy life choices the patient interacts with ( Ness-Jensen, Hveem, El-Serag, & Lagergren 2016).
Electrical stimulation to strengthen the esophageal muscles to help close the 3-4cm gap in the patients throat.
Education on the correct positioning while sleeping so the reflux doesn't interrupt the sleep cycle at night.

Goals
LTG: In 3 days, client will eat 1 full meal during the therapy session consisting of protein, fruit, and vegetables with less than 2 verbal cues for 1 treatment session.
STG: In 1 day, Client will verbally demonstrate the correct portions of food to eat with less than 3 verbal cues for 1 treatment session.
LTG: In 3 days , Client will be positioned correctly for 1 square meal with 0 verbal cuing for 1 treatment session.
STG: In 1 day Client will demonstrate correct positioning in bed for self feeding with less than 3 verbal cues for 1 treatment session.
