USES
For something that has been done several times in the past and continue to do. Ex: It's been raining for hours
To talk about our experience up to the present. Ex: My last birthday was the worst day I have ever had
For something that started in the past and continues in the present. Ex: She has lived in Manchester all her life
Something that happened in the past but is important at the time of speaking. Ex: I can't get in the house. I've lost my keys
TIME EXPRESSIONS
Yet/Ever/Never. Ex: I have never been to Hungary, I haven't seen that movie yet

For/Since. To talk about a state that started in the past and continues. Ex: I have been a doctor since 1997, I have lived in Spain for 3 months
Up to now/So far. To say that something has happened several time. Ex: So far this morning, I have done 2 excercises.
