PRONOUN
It functions as a replacement of a noun.
Examples of pronouns; I,yours,his,hers,ours,their,mine,he,she,we,they,it
Example;This blouse is mine.
ARTICLES
An Article is a word that comes before a noun.
The indefinite articles
A & AN
These are used before a singular noun when talking about general things.
Example; A house, An orange
The definite article
THE
It is used before a singular or plural noun or when talking about a specific member(s) of a group(things, places or people)
Example; The apple
NOUN
A noun can be defined as a word that is used to name a person, place, thing, or animal.
3.Noun functioning as the complement of a verb.
For this one it is necessary to have a linking verb or state of being and it does not receive an action.
Stephanie is the loser.
4.Noun functioning as the object of a preposition.
It comes after a preposition in a sentence.
I give my pencil to her.

This happens after an action verb that receives the action.
Example; I love Oscar.
5.Noun functioning in apposition to another noun.
This one is about putting a noun next to another noun to explain it.
Example; The nurse, Irma has quit her job.
Noun functioning as the subject of a verb.
This one happens when the subject of a sentence is before the main verb..
Example; Andrew kicked the ball.
VERB
A verb is the most important part of speech and it can show an action and state in different tenses.
The verb that show action and state are; am,is,are,was, were
She is my friend. She was my friend.
ADJECTIVE
An adjective can describe a noun,
They can specify opinion,size,shape,age, color,origin, material and purpose.
Example; She is beautiful.
PREPOSITION
Prepositions are words that express a relationship of a noun or pronoun in a sentence.
Example of prepositions; above,towards,between,behind,in front of,into,by,from on.
Example; The book is on the table.
ADVERB
They describe a verb,noun,adjective and other adverbs in a sentence.
Most of the adverbs end up in -ly.
Example; I walked quickly.
CONJUNCTION
Conjunctions are used to join words, phrases and sentences.
Example of conjunctions; and, but, so, although, or, for.yet,since,while etc.
Example; I like chocolate cookies and milk.
INTERJECTION
Interjections are use to express emotion most of the time.
Example of interjections; oops;wow,hey,hi,hooray,goodness, oh, boo etc.
Example; Hey!It is nice to see you again.
Emotions such as; happiness, sadness, fear,boredom,love,anger etc.
