Why Vodafone?
Vodafone is a global company that helps people to connect across the world. After attending the Vodafone Apprenticeship Insight Evening on 9th April, it showed me that Vodafone allows its apprentices to get real responsibilities and experiences from day one, which I believe will help me to excel in the project management field, as I am a quick learner.
Vodafone provides much more than just mobile phones, they try to connect Western and Third World countries together through advancing technology, which is why I am particularly interested in working for your company.
Projects?
TEXTING TOILET - project as it delivers cutting edge technology to third world countries by monitoring and then sending a signal to an engineer when the waste level is too high. By using one screwdriver, the engineer can fix the toilet and ultimately help third world countries to keep sanitisation to a good standard but also better their knowledge on advancing technology.
MOOCALL - connects the farmers to their animals, a device that can accurately predict when a cow is most likely to give birth by measuring tail movement patterns triggered by labour contractions. When they reach a certain level of intensity over a period of time it then sends an alert, via the Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform, directly to your cell phone or via an app. It sends a signal whatever the location from one single platform
Who are Vodafone?
They are one of the world's leading mobile communications providers, operating in 26 countries and in partnership with networks in over 55 more.
Across the world, they have almost 444 million customers and around 19.5 million in the UK.
They made their first ever mobile phone call on 1st January 1985 from London to our Newbury HQ.
