when she is felling better and wants to go back to school it is still raining but there is n money to get the bus so she stays home and Aunty gets mad with her

Aunty had a visit from the Attendance officier who left a note about Tuaine not going to school. Tuaine threw the note away because she did not want to make Aunty mad.

Ashamed to say why she got a detention for being late because she had to walk to school because there was no money for the bus.
When Tuaine has detention, Teacher just rips all her writing up withpout looking at it - hurt.

Made to stay home from school to do housework and shopping. Was really concerned for her younger cousin that Aunt also kept her home. Aunt didn’t understand the importance of being at school.
Tuaine tired from waliking to and from school and gets sick because she has no coat or umbrella. She got wet walking to school, was wet and cold all day and went home still wet and cold.

Tuaine feels ashamed about stealing the jacket. Remembers the bible teachings she had on the island. Decides to return the jacket.
While trying to put the jacket back on the rack Tuaine gets caught. The manager calls the Police who interview Tuaine and call Mrs Price to come and speak with Tuaine.
Mrs Price gets Tuaine to tell the whole story about what has been happening - no money for food and bus, being sick, no warm clothing etc.
Mrs Price listens to Tuaine and when she takes her home asks her if she wants to go back home. Tuaine says yes so it is organised spesial
