SELF-IDENTITY
HOBBIES
-
-
SPOKEN WORD POETRY - aside from reading, spoken word poetry is my refuge. It invades my thoughts 45% of the time and shapes my own beliefs and opinions about this funny thing called life.
-
-
IDEOLOGY
RELIGION - I am a secular and liberal Christian Born Again. Though I don't have a strong faith or deep spiritual relationship with God, I am however greatly interested in studying different religions. Perhaps it's because it reminds me of human variation, yet the universality of human faith also struck my interest.
-
POLITICS - no opinions, interest or awareness. Having to grew up with the corrupted politics of the Philippines, I didn't bother to know the latest news or follow any particular political leader. I have this mindset of not letting the government tell me how to view the world, but instead just be inform of the policies that I can use for my benefit.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION - I am a heterosexual, which means I am attracted to the opposite sex.
RACISM - My motto for racism is to ''look at the person's soul before its skin'', which means don't judge people by race but instead look at their perspective before criticizing them. I've met different kinds of people and concluded that stereotypes are too simplistic. People are not either black or white. They are all complicatedly and universally, grey.
WORK STYLE - Slowly but surely. I've been noted by my teachers that I put too much work on each unit task that my overall progress had been falling behind. I put too much unnecessary details and effort. I don't call this perfectionism. It's just that when I'm interested in a certain topic, I become too ambitious and endorsed into it that I ignore other responsibilities in the process
PERSONALITY = INTJ
INTROVERTED - although I have no problem socializing with new people (due to different transfers of environment), I am struggling with maintaining an intimate and closure relationship, especially friendship. I would start a good friendship, but never bother to open up to them or initiate the next step to develop it. I also despise small talks or senseless convos. I prefer deep and philosophical convos that I rarely get out of people. Most of my hobbies too are for independent or selt-entertainment.
OPEN TO EXPERIENCE; HUGE CURIOSITY - even with a fixed list of subject of interest, I explore other topics such as nonfiction books that are unrelated to social science. When I do, I always think that 'this would lead me somewhere or anywhere'.
INTUITIVE and ALWAYS ON HER MIND - say I dozed off a lot when in fact I'm just constructing a poem in my head or just simply overthinking and reflecting on the previous happening.
EASILY DISTRACTED and OFTEN LOSES HER FOCUS - as i am easily bored on topics I find uninteresting, I tend to lose focus easily and only become passionate to things that I like
-
OBSERVER OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR - although this might sound creepy, but I stare and record a lot of human behavior or conversation I find interesting. I eavesdrop a lot of public conversation and record phrases or sentences of my subjects (mostly strangers and acquaintances). If you are a talkative person who often initiates a deep and insightful convo, I would turn on my phone recorder at our next meeting. I own several notebooks containing all the phrases, personality and small philosophy of my family, friends, and strangers.
DEFIANT TO AUTHORITY - this personality had gotten me trouble a couple of times; I wasn't the most obedient child or student. Instead of letting the rules control my actions, I use the rules and twist it to my own benefit.

SOCIAL IDENTITY
SOCIAL
ACTIVE MEMBER OF SLYE YOUTH COUNCIL - I'm the website designer and filmmaker of this mental health team. Together with my co-members, I make videos, posters and articles that raises mental health awareness.
NO PARTICULAR SOCIAL CIRCLE - I wouldn't say I am a loner. I have several acquaintances, much more to my liking because of the different schools I've been. However, I always distance myself from them and don't feel the sense of belonging. Although they open up to me, I don't do it in vice versa. As a result, I didn't find the need to let acquaintances step into my own inner world.
MARY WARD STUDENT
FILM STUDENT - I like to think in pictures and scenery. Although most film students are movie buffs (knows the latest films or loves watching movies), I do not watch films, or TV in general. I couldn't relate to movie conversations in class but I do share the same passion of film production as a way to convey a social message or a philosophical wisdom. Most of my films are had deep meaning but are lacking in humor and use of popular culture (which I'm not familiar with).
ACTIVE STUDENT OF WORLD RELIGION AND ARTS - I like to study religion and how it affects human behavior, such as morality development and the concept of faith to a superior being. It is my highest mark in every high school year.
MEDITATION CLUB MEMBER - since I have a bit of experience with mediation skills, I had developed more self-control to cope with strong emotions. Some people told me they don't know what I'm thinking because I often had a blank face and weak reaction in triggering situation.
DEBATING CLUB MEMBER - Although I have zero interest in politics, I joined debating club solely to improve my articulation and public speaking skills. As an immigrant, I know English communication skills is an important factor to develop my own self-confidence in this extroverted world.
-
CULTURAL - I belong to those Filipino immigrant who is living with a bi-cultural identity. Although I know live in Canada and live with Canadian customs, I still eat daily Filipino foods with rice, speak Tagalog, follow some Filipino mindsets such as utang na loob and immerse myself with reflecting on my Filipino culture.
