Tech-Talks during event in War Room
Tech-Talks in-general could use: Increasd promotion (like IngramMicrophones with Flyers for new hires), more emails as many have never heard or are unaware when they are happening, extending into non-tech, larger room (not enough space last time)
In General: 2-3 question survey after each Tech-Talk for both presenters and audience and 1 alongside invites asking why they are deciding not to attend (Reason???)
Bi-Weekly Tech Talks during CodeFest
Have these on WebEx for worldwide associates... Also future ones at IM as well? Recording that way too!

Current Plan: Limit to 10% of GIS aka 150 members
Smart given resources, scale, & first time & scarcity = promotion. But perhaps allow war-room visits from others & spectating on the progress for all of Ingram Micro

Empowerment: Milestones, INSTANT feedback during Month (I.E. Daily Updates on Teams?)
Social Influence: "friending" aka Networking type events in War Room. Formation of Teams = 4 new colleagues. Online dialog in Idea Portal. THE LAPPEL PIN.
Unpredictibility: The wonder of "What is this CodeFest
Ingram"
Suprises during event like: Guest Speakers, Mystery items, MYSTERY. It drives people to be involved to find out
Avoidance: FOMO & If managers push, fear of seeming less.
Scarcity: The limit of 150 people aka 10% of GIS & Wanting to be in that 150.
Having only GIS, would drive rest of Ingram to want to be a part of this type of event next year, warroom would create this desire. Ex: Facebook being only for Harvard causing others to want to be a part as well
Ownership: Building Code From Scratch
Acomplishment: Badges, Lapel pins, Cubical decals to show off, LAPTOP decals for work laptop, Newsletter.
Also: The ability to hear guest speakers. (I.E. Last Tech-Talk had overflow in room and would have more if more people knew about emails.
Appeal to those who like both just participating and the rewards of participating

Why: Purpose: We believe that CodeFest can have benefit and encourage those who have ideas at Ingram
How: By providing a month long event, War Room, perhaps a Innovation Summit during (themed similar to the Hackathon 1.0), and the promotion of the idea board.
What: We'll make MVP's, boost interest in Ingram by Employees and productivity, and some POC that may not be the best.
Teams will trust eachother if others believe what they believe, they all work at IM so they should have 6 values in common
Lunch: Found out BOT being used in 2 categories mentioned earlier at our meetings:
GIS: For people calling in
GIS: For inputing data in database via chatbot

We have partners at HUGE companies with vast resources, maybe sitting in on a meeting, attending one of their events, something similar and would be "free" for us but make IM look good

Branding/Marketing always plays a large roll in promoting Events.... Maybe :star:
If so, needs catchy name for around office & to brand it for this year... at Google we used the name "Ghacks" for our CMUxPitt hackathon with CMUxPitt as the subtitle.

If Summit for 3days or less during, have vendors come & help sponsor the event. We work with small & large companies. BAYER, Fedex, Vanguard, Google (has leftover supplies from my program & REALLY wants to have Google Classroom & similar aspects in the business world). MSP also are involved Similarily
Shows IM as innovative, helps them invest in our partnership in more than just the professional sense. Name a competetor who is willing to do the same like we are.
See if Vendors would be interested in attending, giving stuff, maybe even a couple participating.

New Hires should be made aware of Idea Portal & Tech-Talks: They are made aware of other resources & this would encourage new hires who are not yet accustomed to IM to bring their thoughts from the outside in & help them grow in the community at the Tech-Talks
A lot of Interns from the New Hire Orientation went to the IngramMicrophones due to being invited at the Orientation
Video of hackathon has no public traction, as unable to be viewed outside of IM. Should be uploaded to Youtube for IM as well. Just a thought since such efforts would look good considering key Value #1 is Innovation:star:

Essentially this would be MINIMALLY done by us (as not to take away from CodeFest). But CodeFest participants, Tech-Talk people, + Portal people. ALL are present during the summit, demonstrating, socializing, LEARNING
DONE: The learning group we met conducts this but Innovation and the CodeFest are definitely related to create interest.
HYPE thus is for EVERYONE since everyone can have ideas, not exclusive to just GIS or BI.
