2 Nephi
Alma is giving advice to his son, Helaman that small steps lead to great things. This advice can also be given to the father, If you feel that you need to be a perfect father, it's not doing everything at once, but that the small and simple things can create a humongous difference.
"Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise." -Allma 37:6
Lehi talks to his sons and encourages/ teaches then to be righteous
