The role of cytokinin in the regulation of hormone-related pathways: Other key genes differentially expressed in the presence of BA include a gibberellin receptor, gibberellin 2-beta-dioxygenase, ethylene-responsive protein, ACC oxidase proteins (involved in ethylene biosynthesis), and 8 auxin-related genes. This therefore demonstrates that cytokinin triggers changes in hormone-related pathways in rice - this has previously been shown in Arabidopsis. MapMan, which is used here to visualize differential expression results in the context of metabolic pathways, shows that cytokinin is involved in the regulation of hormone-related pathways including jasmonate, gibberellin, auxin, abscisic acid, salicylic acid and ethylene.
