- - - - Employees are, essentially, providing a service to their employers. The employers are, essentially, consuming the services of their employees.
        
        To make profit, a company must pay you less than the value of your service (as the value is what the consumer will pay). This means that, so long as we work for someone else, we are underpaid.
  - - - Breaking this relationship and creating things that can be sold repetitively is key to passive income.
        Think digital books: I write one book, it is sold thousands/millions of time.
        Apartments: sure, landlord has to clean/maintain it, but it brings in income over time and can be consumed multiple times
        
        Digital media creates major opportunity for this, as digital products do not necessarily have to be maintained and do not need to be constantly produced (as in analog books, that have to be printed and manufactured).
- - - - Windows: Microsoft creates it, others install it onto PCs and sell it FOR Microsoft so they can focus on engineering
  - - - Google and Facebook use this model: Facebook is free, but they charge others to advertise.
      - "If you're not paying for the product, you ARE the product."
