by the time he died, Martin Luther King had help to:
Put an end to discrimination on buses, in schools, parks and other public places
There were number of black polititians at local and national level
Black people had the right to vote
Become easier for black people to get jobs in the media, law, education and in business.
How black people were treated
in south of USA, black people treated badly by white people
not allowed to have good jobs
treated little better than slaves
Some white people used bible to suggest black people create inferior to whites - genesis 9 - Ham disobeyed God and was given blemish on his skin. White people said black people were descendants of Ham.
Black people couldn't mix freely with white people

What he believed in / why he protested
He taught real meaning of bible - treat everyone with reapect. Everyone is a child of God.
We are all made in the image of God
He got Jews to believe that racial prejudice is wrong by telling them the parable of the good samaritan ( Luke 10:25-37)
He was motivated by when Jesus told his followers to be selfless, to love their enemies and not seek revenge.
