        Could be attached directly to a butt hinge with its ends embedded in either side (one in the holder itself and one in the sandwich hinge end) to allow for horizontal rotation as well
        
        Female piece consists of a rectangular U shape (from top view) with a hole drilled through both ends. Male piece is a single rectangular piece which slides between the two ends of the female piece and also has a hole so that all three holes align and a rivet can be slid between them to hold all three bits together while allowing vertical rotation
    - - Screw system, inner bits could be threaded then twisted to the desire height
      - Key in a hole, like weights at the gym
      - Spring loaded metal bits like in luggage handles
      - Grooves along the inside, pull up and twist to lock
  - - - Will probably avoid use of plastic, primarily because it would juxtapose the traditional/antique theme I'm aiming for and secondarily because wood is arguably more sustainable.
    - - Structural support rods within the stand?
      - Book holder piece could be a metal tray
      - Page divider would probably be two rubber tipped metal bits
      - Would need to be lightweight but durable, probably finished to be water resistant if ferrous since Islamic countries can get quite humid
    - - Hard wood would provide a more professional feel but would also likely increase the weight of the assistant significantly and isn't as sustainable as using soft wood or manufactured board
        
        Could potentially use a manufactured board with a hard wood veneer or lamination
      - The most sustainable option, biodegradable and renewable, but also easy to work with
      - Will provide a nice aesthetic to the project especially considering the target theme and style correlate nicely with a more natural, grain type of finish

      - Difficulty reading in dim lighting
