fertilisation process : During mating, the sperm will be released into the female's vagina. After it enters the female body, the sperm uses their tail to swim to the egg and thousand of sperms cluster around the egg, trying to break through its outer covering. Only one sperm will succeed and fuse with the egg while the others eventually die...The fertilised egg will then grow and develop in the mother's womb for about 9 months.

It take place after the egg is laid. The male animal then release its sperm onto the laid egg for fertilisation to occur.
