Relative Clauses
Defining
To define exactly which person, thing or place you mean
who / that
for people
which / that
for things
where
for places
whose
for possession
Non-defining
To add information, if they are left out, the sentence still makes sense
Always put the clause between commas (or a comma and a full stop)
You cannot omit the relative pronoun, or use that
Reduced
You can rewrite some relative clauses to be more concise
