Light Rays
When light travels from an optically less dense medium, it bends away from the normal. Only happens when the light travels through a more dense into less dense.
If the angle of incidence is increased, the angle of refraction also increases.
When the angle of refraction in the less dense medium is 90 degrees, the angle of incidence in the more dense medium is called the critical angle, 0c
If the angle is more than the critical angle then the light rays will not refract and therefore will only reflect. This is called total internal reflection.

Mirages
Real and apparent depth
If you walk by swimming pool, the base of the pool appears to be above the actual (real position)

Superimposition
Interference
Constructive
When as crest and another crest add together their amplitude to make a maximum displacement. Same occurs when 2 troughs combine together.also called an antinode
Destructive
When a crest combines with a trough, it cancels out making the 2 pulses flat. Also called a node.

Formula to find image
Descartes Formula can be used to find out the image/object positions accurately in both mirrors and lenses.
-
NOTE:
-
Di, Do, and f must have the SAME unit.
For a convex mirror, a focal point is behind the mirror, so 'f' value used in calculations must be NEGATIVE
