What would happen if there was no friction on Earth?
The eight advantages
Machines such as generators make a lot of noise due to friction. But since there would be no friction, machines would not make any noise at all.

You would save a lot of money because your automobile engine would consume less fuel.

Due to friction, we have to exert more power into the machines such as a generator. But since there is no friction, we would not have to exert as much as power.

It would be a lot easier to move an object somewhere than it is with friction.
Heat is created by friction. But since there is no friction, it can not overheat and damage an object.
Any device that has moving parts can last for a long time and not wear out rapidly. For example, an eraser would basically last forever.
Friction produces a lot of unnecessary heat. For example, a car engine becomes hotter because of friction. But since there would be no friction, the unnecessary heat would not exist.
Friction produces a lot of heat in various parts of the machine. In this way, a lot of useful energy is wasted as heat energy. However, since there is no friction, heat will not be produced which will lead to useful energy being saved.

What is friction?
Friction is a force that opposes the motion of a body across a surface or through a gas or liquid.

The eight disadvantages
If you are walking or running, you use the friction with the ground to move your body forward, left, right, or to stop. However, since there is no friction, it would be tough to control your body while you are running.
Brakes on a car use friction to stop the car itself. But if there is no friction, your car would not stop using the brakes.
It would be very hard to walk without friction because the friction between the sole of the shoe and the surface of the ground prevents us from slipping. But since there is no friction, we would be slipping every time we walk.
Our furniture would be moving everywhere there would be no friction between the base and the floor surface.
We also would not be able to erase and write on the paper.
Motor vehicles would not stop unless they hit a wall.
Boats will keep on crashing together because there would be no water drag.
We would not be able to eat food or drink water because we will not be able to carry it.
