  - - - Living condition in old urban areas are poor e.g. Sham Shui Po, Yau Ma Tei, To Kwa Wan, Sheung Wan
      - The buildings are in poor conditions
      - The streets are narrow
      - Little open space and few community facilities
      - Most of the residents are low income and no money to improve the building
      - The worsening environment in old urban areas is called urban decay

      - A lot of people are crowded in a small area
      - More than 7 million people lives in 1106 square kilometers(sq. km)
      - population density = Number of people / Total area
      - Hong Kong population density = 7300000 / 1106 = 6600 people/km2
      - The population distribution in Hong Kong is uneven
      - Population density n old urban areas such as Sham Shui Po, Mong Kok and Kowloon City is much higher thanother places
      - Overcrowding ccurs when the number of people is so large that a place cannot provide enough space for them.
      - Leads to urban problem such as poor living condition, air and noise pollution
