METAMORPHIC ROCKS
Metamorphic rocks are formed when other types of rocks are changed by incredible heat and pressure inside the earth.
E.g. marble, slate, granite.
IGNEOUS ROCKS
Igneous rocks form when magma and lava form volcanic eruptions cool and solidify.
e.g. pumice, basalt, scoria.
SEDIMENTARY ROCKS
Are formed when lose particles are pressed together by the weight of overlaying sediment.
e.g. coal, conglomerate, sandstone.
MOHS SCALE:
Mohs scale is a scale that shows the hardness of a rock and how easily it can get scratched. E.g. Diamond (10) is a rock that can’t get scratched and tale is a rock that is very fragile (1)
