Men, women and children were forced to withhold long, tiresome days, conditions were awful. Usually, factories become extremely hot and were hazardous to all in terms of safety.

Both women and children were used as cheap labour as they were paid less than men, this allowed factories profits to increase.
Children were employed into factories as they were easily able to get underneath machines to pick up/clean any unwanted material from below. This could cause many negative effects, injuries sustained etc.
Your child has lost their arm after attempting to clean beneath a machine, lose $25 in your wage per week to assist your child.
Many children wouldn't have the opportunity of an education due to them working within factories. Families became reliant on all the income made and in some cases needed this extra source of income even if small to live. This would cause children to be working long hours being paid very little, sometimes not paid at all. If they were paid it was 20% less than an adult wage. Sometimes children were paid in the form of vouchers that could be used in stores that their specific factory operates.
