Government Initiatives
Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme for Employers
Eligibility
Be a Singapore Citizen; and
Aged 35 years and above (13 years and above for Persons With Disabilities); and
Earn a monthly income of not more than $2,000
How to apply
Employers can submit their application and claim WTS through the SkillsConnect system. Normal submission guidelines will apply.
Coverage
Employers can benefit from 95% course fee subsidy and absentee payroll funding when they sign up their employees for any course approved for WTS funding:
Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications WSQ) courses
Approved Academic Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses offered by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and 5 local Polytechnics
Certifiable Skills Training Courses accredited or supported by SkillsFuture Singapore
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs
Eligibility
Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
At least 30% local shareholding by Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
Employment size of not more than 200 (at group level) or with annual sales turnover (at group level) of not more than $100 million
Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
How to apply
Application for the enhanced funding will be administered through SkillsConnect. SMEs can submit applications and claims through the online SkillsConnect platform and enhanced funding will be awarded to those who meet the eligibility criteria. The normal submission guidelines will apply. The application can be submitted up to 30 days before the course start date and no later than 30 days after the course start date.
Coverage
a) Higher Course Fee Funding
SMEs will enjoy subsidies of 90% of the course fees when they sponsor employees for the above-mentioned CET courses. All employers of workers who meet the eligibility criteria for Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme will continue to receive course fee funding under the WTS scheme.
b) Increased Absentee Payroll Cap
In addition to higher course fee funding, SMEs can also claim absentee payroll funding of 80% of basic hourly salary at a higher cap of $7.50 per hour, a significant increase over the normal cap of $4.50 per hour. All employers of workers who meet the eligibility criteria for Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme will continue to enjoy absentee payroll funding under the WTS scheme.
Enterprise Training Support (ETS)
Eligibility
Organisations who have tapped on government assistance schemes in the past, for similar funding components, may not qualify for some specific grant components.
All organisations, companies societies and non-profit organisations registered or incorporated in Singapore

One-time grant of $20,000 per organisation
Curriculum Contextualisation and Alignment Grant
HR Development Grant
Up to $60,000 per organisation
Compensation and Benefits System Review Grant
Up to $15,000 per organisation
