To conclude, the law of criminal attempts is ineffective, in both elements of it. The law currently allows criminals such as the case of Geddes to be let off without punishment, and criminals who would normally be convicted of a crime they completed with recklessness, to not be convicted of an attempt with recklessness. Arguably a clear and concise view from the Supreme Court, on how to apply the law, and to tighten the boundaries of it, is needed to ensure it becomes more effective in the future.
