What impact did the early settlers have on the environment?
Animals
The animals affected the environment by causing to much damage and loss of plants in the area.
The animals also affected native animals on the land because the non- native animals could eat and kill the animals which were native to the country.
Aboriginal People
English people came to Australia and tore off Aboriginal Cultures.
Diseases
Malaria
Fever
Whooping Cough
Flu
Gold Mining
Impacts
Gold mining affected water systems like lakes which were then removed and demolished because of the gold miners.
Gold Mining affected food chains when animals were killed because the Gold rush was including water ways where some animals lived.
Gold Mining affected clean waters which were used to find gold, so the country suffered from drought because of the ways they were treating water.
Gold mining required wood for energy, which caused many trees to be chopped down. The shortages of trees affected the environment.
Sustainability
The Aboriginal people were very sustainable. When they killed an animal, they would eat the meat and use the skin for making clothes and weapons. In this way, Aboriginal people were very sustainable.
However, the English people were not sustainable. When the English people killed an animal, they would eat the meat but they would waste the skin. The English people did not reuse anything. In this way, the English people were not sustainable.
