What is the significance of the text (Metta Sutta) in the canon of religious texts within Buddhism? Is it going to be recognised by all Buddhists? There are three main groupings of religious canons within Buddhism, and most do not recite in English. Its meaning is also the significance attributed to it, because in each tradition, it does not have the same priority. It does, however, appear as a canonical text in all three types of canons, so it must be important from that point of view.
