In a pre-mortem, you assume that a project (in this case, your next career move) is wildly successful. Then you brainstorm on all the conditions (e.g., people who helped, skills you relied on) that made this possible (plan with targets - skills to get you to your targets, sponsors to help you spot the gaps & coach you etc

        Often presentations are a combination or inform and inspire to action. Best way to do this is to mix up facts with storytelling techniques - e.g.
        
        Paint a picture of realities of audiences current world (i.e. the problem or gap)
        
        Then talk about what it could be in story telling form All this creates creates tension with the story telling making the facts more interesting
        
        Then another fact/what it is End the prz on a higher plane than it started wih everyone understanding the reward for the future
        
        Then another what it could be Then ask the audience to cross the threshold - where they commit to taking action knowing it won't be easy but will be worth the reward
