damage to thoracodorsal nerves prevents patient from medially rotating and adducting arm. Latii. dorsi paralysis.
inability to brush hair after mastectomy is due to paralsis of long thoracic nerve supplying serratus anterior. it abducts scapula above horizontal plane and maintain it close to thoracic wall.
initiating abduction: supraspinatus, first 15
deltoid from 15-90.
serratus ant and trapezius above horizontal plane.
teres and pectoralis major medial rotators, not arm abductors.
-
C5 to T1 is brachial plexus to rhomboid, serratus ant, supraspinatus, and latii. phrenic is C3 to c5 to diaphragm.

fracture of transverse process of cervical vertebrae C1-C6 causes pulsating hematoma due to vertebral A injury
drooping shoulder due to trapezius paralsis. injury to accessory (11) nerve. also supplies SCM. ask pt. to turn head againt resis or shurg
dens of atlas i held in place by transverse ligament of atlas.if torn causes quadreplegia. dens penetrate spinal cord
