The Amazon Rainforest
These tribal people don't fit into our society. They have to learn new languages and customs that are drastically different from those of their tribe. This causes diversity in the society of Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and other countries that the forest consists of.
Since the illegal destruction of the forest began... people have created NGOs that want to help the rainforest. These NGOs bring people into the country that share culture and education.
McDonald's is one of the main causes of deforestation in the rainforest. They are influencing illegal deforesting to make room for cattle farms. These farms would be production centers that ship meat to McDonald's around the world.
Deforestation has caused native rainforest tribes such as the non-contact tribe to retreat into modern society. These natives who live in non-technological societies that are almost 2 thousand years behind ours have to adapt and learn our way in society.
The human interaction with the forest has been underestimated. Humans are the main cause for the destruction of the rainforest. They cause global warming and deforestation that kills the natives and animals of the amazon.
The forest is home to 1620 bird species, 230 snake species, 600 mammal species (including humans), 40 turtle species, and 10000 insect species. Scientist are still discovering new insects in the rainforest each year.
The rainforest is one of the biggest natural habitats of the world, housing some of the most exotic plants and animals.
The forest has 4 layers that play a key role in the habitat for the animals. They are:
-The Emergent Layer
-The Canopy Layer
-The Understory
-The Forest Floor
The rainforest is home to over 16 thousand species of trees. These trees include oak trees, ash trees, kapok trees, etc. These trees provide natural habitats for plants and animals.
The average temperature of the rainforest has increased by 5 degrees in just 2 years. This increase of heat has shortened the wet season and expanded the dry season. This causes forest fires and death to plants and animals.
The rainforest is home to one of the largest ecosystems in the world. These range from natural savannas to muddy swamps. With these habitats at risk from global warming and deforestation, thousands of animals a day are forced to relocate.
The level of deforestation in the rainforest is growing exponentially each month. Over 3.459 million acres of wood/forest has been cut down and illegally sold (I did the math for the acres).
Climate change and global warming are having a major affect on the rainforest. These high temperatures reduce rainfall and causing the forest to have more forest fires because of the lack of moisture.
During the wet season, the amazon river expands to 300 miles wide, causing flooding of the forest floor. In the short time the wet season has now, it causes so much flooding that the water could fill the United States with over 1/2 and inch in water.
The increase of population in the countries that the rainforest embodies is causing the human inhabitants of the rainforest to increase. People are building homes in the rainforest, causing natives and animals to be at risk.
One of the problems with people helping the rainforest is the language barriers. People who want and are helping cannot understand the natives while the natives can't understand the workers of the non-governmental organizations.
Today... over 10 thousand NGOs (non-governmental organizations) are trying to help the rainforest and the animals in it. They try to make sanctuaries for the animals, giving them a safe place to live from hunters that are illegally killing the people and animals of the forest.
Brazil's laws that protect the rainforest are continually at risk. The overall political turmoil and the impeachment of Brazil's president, Dilma Rousseff are causing chaos within the laws of protecting the world's largest rainforest.
The Brazilian Armed Forces have come up with a "tactical plan" to protect the rainforest and the inhabitants of it. This plan is to post soldiers and other military persons on the perimeter of the rainforest while a satellite looks over the rainforest from space.
Brazil is the country that is struggling the maintain the well being of the forest politically speaking. Their laws are the weakest out of the 9 countries that the rainforest embodies, allowing for the most illegal deforestation activity to happen.
