Research pre-service teaching programmes at universities to understand the educational pathways of student teachers into schools in Australia. Identify their opportunities and constraints for the complex knowledge age # #
PRACTICAL APPROACHES
Emergency teaching at schools across different contexts in Melbourne (primary, secondary, public & private) for the first 3-6 months on my return to familiarise myself with current day pedagogical practices in schools in Australia. Observe "theory, practice and social axes" (Male & Palaiologou, 2015)
Networking with "neighbours" (Davis & Sumara, 2008) or people who support and challenge my educational philosophies both in Melbourne and afar
Conducting action research in language teaching for improved pedagogies specific to the local participants and context (Burns, 2010) #
Improve personal mindful practice through yoga and meditation, rest and relaxation
As part of my ongoing professional practice in educational leadership and language teaching, this plan has been created with real short and long terms goals in mind. Given the unpredictable nature of the complex modern day, this plan should be interpreted as a flexible document that is adaptable as my understanding in these capacities develops and opportunities present themselves through my relationships with peers in different places, supporting me in different directions over time.
