Views on Conflict
- Radical view - conflict is inevitable due to structural inefficiencies (e.g. Marx)
- Unitarist view - conflict is dysfunctional and avoidable (e.g. Elton Mayo)
- Interactionist view - conflict can be functional or dysfunctional

- Focused- or Managed-conflict view - conflict can be beneficial in specific cases (e.g. teamwork)

There will always be communication, interpersonal and structural issues; task, process and relationship conflict; individual and group differences in values and cultures
